  • “Who is “American,” and who gets to decide? What classifies as being truly American?
  • How do people and spaces “perform” segregation?
  • What does Levittown (suburbia) symbolize?
  • Who is a terrorist? Were the Levitt brothers villains or products of their time? Could they be both?
  • How did race impact the housing situation for the Myers?
  • Can the Myers’ ordeal be compared to the first pioneers in the United States?
  • Describe your sense of what it means to achieve the American Dream. Is this ideal accessible to everyone? How does race play into conceptions of “American-ness” and who is included in this “Dream”?
